Water Caretakers – North Coast of São Paulo [2022/2023]

With 312,000 inhabitants and an even greater range of nature, made by numerous rivers that originate in the Serra do Mar, sub-basins that drain directly into the Atlantic Ocean and 184 beaches, the region is extremely important for all the ecosystem services it provides to all over Brazil.
However, the region has serious problems regarding the collection, treatment and disposal of sewage, causing serious problems of pollution of its water bodies.
With the objective of contributing to the improvement of water management, FunBea operates in the territory, proposing activities, training the members of the North Coast Basins Committee (CBH-LN). The project’s objective is to provide qualified information on topics related to water management, both for participating members and for the general public, through CBH LN’s Social Communication Program: Comunica LN.
In addition to promoting information, the project also provides for raising awareness in society to create change makers!
